Rossano Brazzi

does this handsome Italian actor from such films as Summertime, and Light in the Piazza make anyone else swoon? Growing-up, he was my idol..sigh

(we watched Light in the Piazza again last night, damn what a hunk!)

Only seen the recent musical.
Must see the film. He is very handsome.
Plus the beautiful Olivia is in it.
Oh, now I want to see 'The Heiress".
Why can't they be out on one DVD?

He was nummy.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

It's amazing how I've not seen that one.
I've seen pictures and heard of it for years.
So many good films, so little time. :)

that movie alone is what made us decide on Venice to start our trip in 1999. After arriving at the Venice airport, rather than take a Vaporatti, I insisted we take a water taxi (much more $$$) and we sped off in the lagoon towards the city, me standing and pretending I was Katherine Hepburn.........it was glorious

I hope you didn't go all the way!

It makes me sad that I have not been to Venice (and Firenze). I've been to Rome and Spoleto and Torino. From Torino on the day off I took a train to Monte Carlo to see Lermontov's winged statue (The Red Shoes). Could have gone to Venice but had to do Monte.
