Either way, he has been unmasked as a scumbag. Whether it was Rove acting on nehalf of Bush or Libby acting on behalf of Cheney, the Bush Administration has demonstrated that they have more interest in political revenge than in national security.

I remain baffled by the internecine aspects of this, though it does see as if Rove's participation can remain unproven, since there are myriad ways of identifying Plume without actually naming her. (Anyone at this board who's started a gossipy threat a la Michael Musto knows it doesn't take a "brilliant political mind" to get down n'dirty with innuendo.) But call me naive, at this late date, I still don't quite understand how this jailing of Miller gives "ammunition" to those who think the press is too liberal. Even the round table on Brit Hume's Fox show thought Miller's incarceration deplorable. Even that smug Fred Barnes.
