Rula Lenska Commercial

Does anyone remember that commercial from the late 70's-early 80's with Rula Lenska?? It was for some hair product, and she entered and said "Hello, I'm Rula Lenska"... and it left thousands of Americans asking "Who the hell is Rula Lenska???"

Anyone know where I can watch this commercial??? I tried YouTube, but had no look!

Phantom... I remember that commercial in the 70's. I do recall that she's doing a little dance thing and says something to the effect that "after exerting herself (which she really wasn't), she has to make sure that her hair looks nice...". You had to be there.... from RC in Austin, Texas... "Peace, Love and Gossip".... (Downtown Julie Brown)

From what I gather, Rula Lenska is still very active on stage in Europe.

I remember those commercials as well. I had never heard of her before those VO5 commercials.

It was a joke for a while, because here was this woman in these ads who was being treated like a big deal, and no one in this country had ever heard of her.

I remember one of the ads with her saying "Friends are visiting from America, and I'm showing them London!" There was another that showed her in some kind of vaguely Greek Tragedy costume, taking a bow and being given a bouquet.

Then years later I was listening to a tape recording of one of the original HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY broadcasts, and was stunned to hear Rula Lenska's name read out in the credits.

She had a hit show on British television in the 70's called Rock Follies...of course it was never shown here in the US. I am not sure if it was a marketing ploy or not, but everyone talked about these commercials at the time, making fun of the celebrity who wasnt....so the ploy worked...everyone remembers VO5 because of it.
