Glebb, who's the hottie in the second picture?
we were JUST talking about how great it would be to go there and see CUP OF RUSSIA :)
We were watching too! Excellent show.
We've been to St. Petersberg, all over the Winter Palace (which is now the Hermitage)...
...as well as out to Peterhof, the Tsar's summer palace.
Incredible!
Such amazing history, and to think how recent it was (in the grand scheme of things)!
The last Tsarevitch was born at Peterhof!
Did you also do Pavlovsk in Tsarskoe Selo/Pushkin?
The Alexandrinski Dvoryets is in Pushkin too.
Just a day-trip out to Peterhof (the palace and those incredible gardens!!)
The first day we spent entirely in the city of St. Petersberg and toured the Hermitage (formerly the Winter Palace), had lunch at the Astor Hotel in the center of town, then visited many other sites in the city along the Neva, including the Church of the Spilled Blood...
St. Petersberg is now a fascinating combination of ultimate decadence and decay. You can see the grandeur that it once was... the ruin that it fell into... and the restoration going on now. And it's all there in one place.
Perhaps the most fascinating of all the European cities we've visited.
The Moika Palace in Petersburg.
Pavlova danced for the Yusupov Family in this theatre in their Petersburg Palace. This is the Palace where Rasputin was murdered.
I loved Saint Petersburg and Moscow but would really love to explore the whole country - Kiev, Crimea, Alapeyevsk, Tobolsk, Ekaterinburg and on.
Road trip!
I didn't know Rasputin was murdered in a theater!
Was it during a show?
joey, the theater is IN the palace where he was murdered
