Here's wishing her the best, but as those of us who've lost loved ones know, it's one of the hardest cancers to detect early and beat.
Pardon me for saying this, but thank God John McCain was not elected president.
Obama is certainly being put to the test! I just saw a rerun of West Wing (on Bravo every morning) where they had to choose Supreme Court justices- wow- what hard decisions. I understand your comment about McCain- I'm so sick of the media interviewing him about Obama's choices. I don't remember them interviewing Al Gore on bush all the time. Anyway, I wish her the best as well!
Yes, this is terribly sad news. In addition to being a gifted scholar and jurist, she is, in my experience, a lovely and generous person. My daughter is friends with her grandduaghter, and she's attended various school/grandchild related functions (including holding an assembly where she addressed, and answered questions from, the entire upper school). Yet another reason to be grateful that Obama's at the helm.
Cancer didn't spread, she's out of the hospital, and gonna go back to work before the end of the month.
