yep, the ap being the clearinghouse of all things on close hold in the white house.
"it was in the newspaper, it has to be true!"
it is still way beyond be me how an woman can be a republican and follow that partys belief when they are so obviously screwing women everywhere over
now, now, i think that a majority republicans and democrats alike enjoy screwing women. your time on the board may have warped your sensibilities to the joys of heterosexual intercourse.
"it was in the newspaper, it has to be true!"
that's almost as laughable as:
"president george w. bush said it, it has to be true!"
yes, robbo, but no one's saying that here.

Eeee! It's happening; it's happening! I'm going to take great sadistic pleasure in watching the GOP tear itself apart in the next few years.
Everybody read The Politics Presidents Make. It predicted this; I swear.
G.O.P. Asks Conservative Allies to Cool Rhetoric Over the Court
Careful! It may just be a Rovian trick.
Leave it to Rove to have the ultra-right-wingers complain that Bush's buddy is not conservative ENOUGH--then the Democrats will have to accept him as a MODERATE!
And watch your subject lines, folks: they tend to develop conservative cooties.

Just wanted to share a short email conversation I had with a friend of mine who works for the 5th Circuit. The two leading female candidates for the Court (according to the Times) both happen to be from there (located in New Orleans) so I asked my friend what he knew about them:
Me: Hey babe, I was just reading and article in the Times about possible replacements for O'Connor and they said that if Bush decides to go with a woman, the two most likely to be considered are Judges Edith Brown Clement and Edith H. Jones.
On a scale of ten, just how insane are those two?
Him: Jones is a 10. Very hard core. She recently had the "sleeping lawyer" case and determined that the appellant did not receive ineffective assistance because he couldn't cite to precise portions of the trial where his attorney fell asleep.
Clement is a 9.5. Totally haughty. She goes by "Joy." It doesn't fit.
I don't think a woman replacement for either spot will be deemed necessary. Since Ginsburg is still on the court, it will be felt that there is still female representation, never mind that the ratio of representation is considerably askew. At any rate, *those* are two women that I will happily do without.
