Who's the tall, imposing-looking white guy who pops up periodically? He was in the Hot Plate sketch as a waiter, and in the homeless sketch last week with Kelly Clarkson as one of the subway passengers. Is he a supporting player, and why isn't he in more sketches? Surely he's more versatile than I'm-The-Only-One-Who-Laughs-At-My-Own-Jokes Sanz.

Wow..that skit was so hilarious. Jennifer Garner was SCARY! There were a couple times throughout the whole show that I thought she resembled Jenny McCarthy...anyone see it?

That tall imposing-looking guy is Rob Riggle. He's a featured player but I definitely think he'll go repertory..he's hilarious.

(Pst. ShuQ, do you mean Hilary Swank? And I did notice in one of her final headshots on the show, near the end when she's lying sideways, I thought she looked like someone that I couldn't place...maybe it was Jenny McC.)

SNL lacks the old bite -- what about the Jeff Gannon debacle

It's been reported elsewhere, but the show's avoidance of most political humor has renderd its satire pretty toothless. (Why not something on the Jeff Gannon/James Guskert hustler-journalist? What SNL potential! Jeesh!)

The botox skit was funny, but it's a soft target, to say the least. And at least 3 segments about Michael Jackson's taste in little boys? Yaaaawn. Talk about a soft been-there-done-that subj. Especially in a week when 1000 more charges against priests were filed.

I'll bet you dollars to donuts Rath didn't watch the whole episode. Many a time in my life people have put down the show and it turns out they fell asleep by 11:50.

The botox sketch was a highlight, Swank was a genius. She was almost unrecognizeable and completely committed to that character.

The opening sketch with Michael Jackson in bed with the flu was terrific, ("White DIAMONDS!") Weekend Update was fantastic, Fred Arnisen's report on The Gates was genius. Swank's Heidi Klum was hilarious. Her Loretta Lynn was great (unfortunate line drop at the end), Mya and Fred's J-Lo and Marc Anthony was a scream.

I thought the hot plate sketch was funny, the only unprepared one was Horatio. I agree that Debbie Downer didn't work. It probably wouldn't have worked the first time if people hadn't broken up during the sketch. It also was the show's most talked about sketch in years, so I get their impulse to bring her back. At least they put her in a new venue, The Oscars, even if it wasn't successful.

People I work with often are highly critical about the show and then I say, "But Los Angeles Face was funny," and they say, "Yeah THAT was funny..." and I say "Weekend Update was great," and they say, "Well, that's ALWAYS great, I love Tina," then I say, "Project Runway was funny" and they start giggling and say "Oh yeah, THAT was good..." and so on.

PS And Rachel Dratch as the Cryographer on the TV soap "Seasons of Love" was faboo.

I find the first few sketches are funny, the musical guest is hit-or-miss, and Weekend Update rarely fails to disappoint, but after Weekend Update (12:25am-1am) is where their weaker sketches go to die.

Not when they laugh in every sketch along with not ever knowing their lines.

Well I will give it to them. I'm sure it's not easy remembering all those sketches in a week ahead of time. As long as they make me laugh, I dont care how many times they look at cue cards

SNL still has it's moments, as was shown last night, but as a whole it's lost a lot of what makes it great. This has happened in the past also and than new people come in and completely revitalize it.

As for me though, I would much rather keep Fox on until midnight and watch MAD TV. I'll take Stuart, Dot and Lorraine over Debbie Downer any day of the week.

I tape MadTV. More boundary-pushing, and their recurring characters are hilarious. (Ms. Swan, Vancome Lady and Latifa Bonifa Jackson, anyone?)

Latifa Bonifa Harifa Sharifa Jackson always makes me laugh. Did you see when Debra Wilson & Nicole Sullivan came back a few weeks ago? It was great!
