SNL hard to find episode
#1SNL hard to find episode
Posted: 11/23/08 at 10:28pmI'm looking for the SNL episode from 10/15/88 starring Matthew Broderick and the "Nude Beach" skit. That skit was written by Conan O'Brien. I understand its a very difficult clip to obtain and I haven't been able to find it anywhere on the internet. Does anyone know where I could get a copy?

Heart be still. How could I have forgotten an episode with Matthew Broderick and a nude beach?

Posted: 11/24/08 at 10:08pmI remember watching the episode but have never been able to find a clip of it since. Even when VH1 or one of those channels did the 101 most memorable moments, they mentioned it at #21 or something and said it was so controversial that the skit has never been shown again.

The nude beach sketch has definitely been shown again, in numerous reruns on Comedy Central and when the episode reran in the "classic" timeslot on NBC a few years back. What you will NEVER see re-air from SNL is Sinead O'Connor ripping up a photograph of the pope.
mc1227 and theaterdude87, I can help you out with clips of those sketches you mentioned. Shoot me a PM and I will see what I can do.

The contract with Comedy Central was up, then it got moved to E!, where at one point, they actually showed episodes from the first five seasons. Now, they hardly show anything decent anymore.
And thanks to reading the very in depth book on the show's history, I know why anything from I think season 6 until 9 maybe, never gets aired at all.

Posted: 11/25/08 at 2:11amPretty much, unless something in the agreement has changed. Personally, I would love for them to show episodes from the first five seasons again. They were just so funny.

Posted: 11/25/08 at 2:25amYou won't ever see the Mercury Mistress parody commercial again. Mercury was an advertiser when that aired and they weren't at all happy!

Posted: 11/25/08 at 10:11amThe one I can't find is a Nathan Lane skit when him and Chris Kattan were old vauldville performers who sang racist songs...it was hilarious...looked all over for it

Posted: 11/25/08 at 2:27pmThe other issue with finding clips, is that anything on video sharing sites, such as youtube, NBC won't allow it. Like because of them, almost anything SNL has been pulled. I mean, I understand, but that's why some material is difficult to find. It also doesn't help if it is not included in any of the DVD sets that are currently available.

Posted: 11/25/08 at 7:50pmI once tried to find the "More Cowbell" sketch on YouTube. I found dozens of clips of people doing their own versions, but none opf the real sketch.
