It was released today, and I just purchased it.
I cannot get over her version of "The Story" that will be featured on Grey's this week. She makes it her own, while still having the powerful vocals one would associate with Brandi Carlile's version.
The other songs sound pretty good so far too. Anyone else listen yet??

Why the HELL do my posts not show up?!
In the previous post which is apparently invisible, I said:
HUGE Sara fan. Not a big of a fan of the EP on the first listen. I think she's too vocal on many parts of The Story, especially the live version she did at The Grove. I like Waitin' a bit. I think that soulful sound is what she needs to be recording. The line "Since you went away, I've been running around" reminds me of The Pet Shop Boys' "What Have I Done To Deserve This." I suppose I will have to give it another listen. I am looking forward to the Grey's release on Thursday.
Here's The Story if anyone wants to hear it: http://viviiscool.tumblr.com/post/4124812643/sayyoulovemebackplease-sara-ramirez-the
And someone put the live vocal over the filmed footage for the show for an idea...

Posted: 3/27/11 at 3:47pmThe videos from the Grove were a little off. I thought she sounded nice, but she sounded like she was losing her voice a little towards the end.

I like it. I just wish she had waited until she had a complete studio album instead of releasing four songs. (I wonder what happened to the album Eric Idle was supposed to be writing with her?) I don't know if there's really a single here, but I don't know if that's the intention. I think the best part of the original version of The Story was the passion and emotion that came out because the singer was the songwriter. It sounds a little weird to me for someone else to sing it.
I hope the musical GA is well received. Veteran fans seem to be panning it hardcore before even seeing it.

I love it! I've listened to it too many times since downloading it last night. Yeah, I'm thinking it was not an intention to release any of the music as a single. Maybe she put this out to really see if there was a strong interest?
I was a tiny bit skeptical about the musical episode, but I don't care anymore because it's Sara Ramirez singing, and Callie centric. The sneak peeks were so powerful in comparison to other episodes. Don't even get me started about Grey's fans now. I've been annoyed with people since 7x07. Particularly some who are die hard Arizona fans.

Yeah, I find it odd that she only released an EP after it's been said that she's been working on an album for a few years at this point. Better than nothing, I suppose.
I do think she has a lot of potential in this realm of music. She's grown on me a lot on Grey's, and I'd love to see her continued success. There might not be a single on this, but I think she's got one in her for sure.

Okay, seriously... my posts are stuck in a bottomless pit of nothingness! I SAID:
Oh LAWDY, I feel a rant coming on.
I just don't like Arizona. I want Callie and Mark together or at least to raise the baby together. The "Mark gets the straight you and I get the gay you for about 20 minutes a night if I am lucky!" pissed me off beyond belief. I am NOT a fan of labels and fitting people into little categories. Arizona seems label obsessed to me. She wouldn't date Callie when she was a "baby lesbian." She is obviously miserable with Callie. (The way Callie is acting, I would guess most people would be miserable, but that's not the point. She's not acting like Callie at all.) She's not a good partner. (Bailing during the chicken pox, dumping when there was a disagreement about having kids and leaving her at the airport and not having contact for months, just to name a few examples.) Thursday night is going to kill me, though. The promo with her twitching on the hood of the car was WAY too much for me.
The songs didn't really grow on me on a second listen. It's okay, just not great. I will burn it to CD and listen in the car.

Posted: 3/28/11 at 7:43pmYeah, I like Arizona sometimes, but not always. I've noticed she has a lot of control issues, and that is not a good thing for someone like Callie. She was better in season 5 and the beginning of 6, before the whole baby drama came up. I sometimes feel stuck in the middle of liking both Callie with her or Mark. I'm not ashamed to admit that either. But, I'm really sick of the fighting and immaturity going on. It seems like for everyone that defends Callie or says something semi-negative about Arizona, we get jumped on. Debates are no longer fun for that reason. Some people just come off so crazy that I want to slap them silly.
