MEF- that quote from CoC gives me shivers
I'll be careful.
"Your grandfather is the Sun
But your mother is a woman
Who passes on to you
An all too human heart."
Amazing lyrics.
Sorry, I don't know the lyrics to any songs written after 1965...
I know!
"I hate the bus
I want my own car
A car with a heater
Want a TV set and more
A big old house, like this one
But everything new
Where can't nobody ever, can't nobody ever
Tell me what to do
Go out when I want to
If I don't then I'll stay
Got magical bracelets
So bullets bounce away
In every room a TV
And my own telephone
And I'll live in my house
And I'll make it okay
By myself
All alone"
ben folds is a great lyricist. currently listening to ben folds five so its my obsession. forgive me.
M_E, the first lyrics are from MARIE CHRISTINE.
The second set come courtesy of Tony Kushner's brilliant CAROLINE, OR CHANGE.
Well, now, I REALLY feel old...
You're not old. What are you, 35?
Is CAROLINE about Princess Caroline of Manoco or Caroline Kennedy?
I just LOOK 35.
I'm really 46.
Yep--the BEST is yet to come. (The thought that what has happened thus far has been THE BEST--REALLY terrifies me.)
My sister-in-law is named Caroline...
However, she has never been a Broadway Musical...
Caroline or Change takes place in Louisiana in 1963, just before President Kennedy's assassination and during the Civil Rights movement. Caroline is the black maid of a Southern family, made up of a father, his new wife and the man's young son. The son's birth mother has recently died, and the stepmother is trying to establish a relationship with the child, who already has a close connection with Caroline. The title has a double meaning, referring to the myriad social changes swirling around the family and a family argument surrounding the spare change perpetually found in the boy's pants pockets.
Caroline herself...Ms. Tonya Pinkins.
WOW!!!
Concise--yet informative.
Detailed--yet to the point.
Sentences are well constructed.
Excuse me, have you ever thought about getting a BA in English and attempting a Master's in Journalism?
I actually stole that synopsis from a website because I was too busy reading crappy essays about Thoreau to type one out myself.
