I am like the shyest person ever (largely due to the fact that I am a spaz) and our school holds an event called Class Acts annually. In this competition, grades 9-12 battle it out in 5 categories: dance, vocal, band, lip-synching, and comedy. However, our grade has no enthusiasm, so I was forced to do lip-synching with a group of my friends. We chose to do "Bye, Bye, Bye" and "Dirrty", and 3 of us dress as girls and 3 as guys (in Dirrty). We were forced into this, but we still worked hard for several hours a day over break to come up with choreography and so on. We even bought our own matching "boy band" costumes. And today we had our dress rehearsal...only to be informed that we have to change the whole thing because it is too vulgar! Now, the "girls" and guys are not even allowed to dance with each other now and we got in trouble for showing some skin (taking off a top...and we are guys) Anything similar happen to anyone else?

They had to change someone's song because it said hell. It was odd. Updated On: 3/4/05 at 09:17 PM

I worked really hard on a piano piece for a talent show and got beat out by a couple of kids running around on the stage lip synching to Usher, and a guy grinding on stage to an African drum song. And I really needed that prize money too.

HROK?

A friend and I arranged to sing "Movie In My Mind" at a school music recital. They reviewed the lyrics and we were told to change the "Screw like boys" part.
We agreed, but on the night? Did it anyway...artistic integrity baby! Oddly, didn't catch any trouble for it.

"We are engaged in two wars, one on drugs and one on terror, that can never be won. I mean, one is a group of inanimate objects and the other is an emotion. We might as well fight a war on pasta, which I guess the Atkins people are actually doing."

You're lucky Falsetto...our school would pull the plugs on the music like they did at our dress rehearsal...bi*ches did not even let us finish our act!

aww, that sucks. I'm in a play now, and some of the lines...well....I don't think my principal will be too happy about them. One of them (mine, of all peoples) is, replying to a stuck up prince, "Yes Clyde, no one is hotter then you are. This is so gay." We tried saying 'cross-dresser' in our winter play- we weren't allowed to. I don't get how he got this approved...or if he did. He writes his own plays though. The man is insane...

A most ingenious paradox.
