"Convicted former top White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby has paid the fine of $250,400.00. The U.S. District Court has posted the canceled check on the docket this afternoon."

So...He wrote a check. Case Closed!

I just wonder where the money came from. Libby was making $160,000 a year. How many people can write a check for 1.5 times their annual salary? Will he have to give up his law license?

Eventually his defense fund will have to release donors & Disbursements. It will be interesting to see how this was handled, if they did indeed pay his fine. Is that taxable income for Scooter?

Oh, please. You don't think Libby had $250,000 in stocks, bonds or treasury notes? With his connections to Cheney, he's been well compensated beyond his salary for DECADES.
