i fail to see how Ebersole being gullible at all relates to Eckern being a gay hating bigot?

that article was pretty stupid and its author is clearly a wuss.

Eckern got what he deserved.

I'm also a little tired of the "so and so doesn't believe in marriage, but believes in civil unions" excuse. Most of the time, I think it's disingenuous at best.

And anyway, I've never preached for tolerance. You don't have to tolerate me to acknowledge my rights.

Uh huh. Nice. The decency of the left is no longer balanced by anything even remotely resembling decency on the right. Also, it must be remembered that Eckern QUIT. He RESIGNED. He didn't choose to weather the storm, or stand up for his beliefs and his support of the legislation. When the going go tough, he cut and ran.

And I think what Ebersole said was loony and have no doubt that it - even if she doesn't realize it - is rooting in anti-semitism, but unless she contributed money to a campaign to strip Jews of their rights, I don't think it's the same thing.

I have utmost respect for Adam Feldman as a theater critic, but as a political analyst, I have the same compassion for his off-balance ideas that he has for Christine Ebersole's.

I sincerely doubt Christine Ebersole is an anti-Semite. My interpretation of what she said is not that she necessarily agrees or disagrees with what is happening, but is simply stating the facts about our economy and the US downfall over the past 7 years and longer.
She IS a very intelligent woman, and for him to call her gullible is an insult to her intelligence.

In the Bloomberg interview, she was asked, "Are you concerned about opening in a new show in this economy?"

Her response was directed at that question and answered based on the history of the Federal Reserve dating back to 1913 and her educated guess on what our future may hold financially.

Tell me what that has to do with anti-sematic views or gay rights?

I REFUSE to feel any sympathy for this man. ANY. And anyone who does, gay or straight, is clearly not in line with the belief that homosexuals deserve equal rights.

EVERYONE that contributed to Yes on 8 (or any of the other antigay bills on the ballot in other states) deserves the same thing that happened to eckern. The deserve to be publicly embarrassed, publicly shamed.

Honestly, if the role had been reversed if TR Knight had called Isiah Washington a n* he would have been fired ON THE SPOT, and likely never worked in television again. but IW, he was kindly written out of the show and has since found other work.

Where has anyone declared that? I think that if there is any kind of declaration to be gotten from all this, it is that gays will no longer tolerate bigotry, and will hold bigots responsible for their views and financial support of same.

And again, Eckern RESIGNED his post. HE RESIGNED. HE QUIT his job. He could still be working at that theater if he so chose.
