Good. Hopefully he will spend a long and unhappy life paying for his crime.
The jury took less than an hour to reach the verdict.
Guilty
Excellent.

Any other verdict would have been a travesty of justice worse than the OJ debacle!!!!!
But everyone knows OJ is innocent, brdlwyr
Nice to see a little justice.

I have mixed emotions- this guy deserves to rot in jail, but I was hoping that we'd soon all have the right to gun down anyone we disagreed with.

Has there ever been a more ironic and self-incriminating statement than "It's Not A Man's Job To Take Life"?
Justice served. Sadly I think he is going to gain a bigger sycophantic following while imprisoned from those on the outside.
I hope he gets ass raped so hard he can't walk straight.

I truly hope that Mr. Roeder eventually sees how wrong he was and what he did was utterly immoral. This will take some time and some serious non-violent face-to-face debate with his chaplains and fellow prisoners.
I am thinking Diva's scenario is far more likely than WOSQ's.
I am glad this terrorist was convicted.
Considering he doesn't think he did anything wrong, he's never going to see how wrong he was.
Get the broomstick, boys!
I hope the just verdict makes dealing with this tragic situation slightly more bearable for the doc's family.
I for one believe he would readily enjoy Diva's scenario.

i don't have all the events of the trial straight, but i'm not sure i understand why the prosecution was trying to prevent him from representing himself or whatever.
i mean, it's clear that all is not well upstairs and anytime he opened his mouth he was hurting his case.
The prosecution was trying to prevent him from using a defense of necessity - saying he killed Tiller in cold blood to prevent the imminent death of others.
The Judge also refused to let Roeder be convicted of a lesser charge, voluntary manslaugher. Manslaugher might have been appropriate to consider if there was an imminent threat of the use of unlawful force.
The prosecution was opposed to both allowing the necessity defense to be raised, as well as a lesser charge.
He was competent to stand trial - and understood the consequences of his actions. He was represented by attorneys affiliated with the pro-life movement.
Let the record be clear: He murdered a doctor. He did not kill a killer. He murdered a doctor, in cold, misguided blood.
His accomplices in murder should be that segment of the right-to-life movement that condones such violence. They should be put on trial as well.
I do not agree with abortion.
Having said that,he was wrong killing the doctor & deserved to get the maximum sentence.
You should have the right to peacefully protest. If you go over & above that, you should be punished pure & simple to the fullest extent possible.
Who is that in Taz's avi?
Anyway, I'm glad this psycho got life.
