Eww. "Notice Me, Horton" would have such new meaning.
At the end, perhaps the director could have Horton hit Gertrude over the head with a phone.
But, see, it'd be cute because it'd be a really funny-looking Seuss-inspired phone!

Secondly, he is a horrible singer that has a knack for finding a section of a song to shine through - which is why he has lasted this long.
