anyone else noticed it's getting lamer? today i tried two actual thread titles ("Dream Boy" and "Houston Thread") and got no hits. Had to page through Next 50 to find them. What gives?

Will: They don't give out awards for helping people be gay... unless you count the Tonys. "I guarantee that we'll have tough times. Yeah. I think it picks up ANY thread that has any of your words in them. Meaning "Boy" and "Thread" will come up a LOT. It's a bit of a pain.

It would be nice if it were Boolean, and even nicer if we could search within our results, but I'm reasonable happy with what we have.

this time i didn't get any hits at all. The other thing that seems to be happening when you do try a hit, is that it brings up the ENTIRE thread instead of the actual post.

But...we get what we pay for! *wink*

Psst...you might want to talk about this with Rob or Craig. They're the ones who can actually change the engine. :)

I've thought about asking them if the search could have some added features, but I was always afraid it would require too much server space.

Does the search engine work for the off-topic board? Because I've tried to search for posts by particular people and I only get results from the main board. I'm just wondering, I'm glad we have a search engine at all.

You have to go into the Main Board to get Main Board posts, and through the OT Board to get OT Board posts. I made that mistake before too.
