Hello All,

I need suggestons for a comedy from the 1930's/1940's (maybe 1950's). A wonderful character actress was slated to play the role of Madame Arcati in BLITHE SPIRIT, but the production rights were withdrawn.

Her company is struggling to find an alternative....preferably, with a significant role for her, and with a least a few more women.

They have already considered Harvey and The Philadelphia Story.

I came up with:

The Curious Savage
You Can't Take It With You
The Solid Gold Cadillac

Can you provide anymore ideas?

Arsenic & Old Lace has TWO great woman's character roles. How old is she? Could she do Maggie in Man who Came to Dinner?

She's in her 30's.....because of her body type she's usually cast in more matronly roles.

JUNE MOON is another good one, but not sure if it has a great part for a mature woman.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

See How They Run by Philip King or The More the Merrier by Frank Gabrielson and Irvin Pincus (not to be confused with the film of the same name). Both rarely done and very funny.

Would she consider the Shirley Booth roles?

Mabel in Three Men on a Horse

Ruth in My Sister Eileen

Leona in Time of the Cuckoo
