Okay, I searched but I couldn't find anything that answered my question. To get an autographed picture do you have to ask for one or do they just give you one?

Well it helps if you ask for one. Also sending a SASE (Self Addresed Stamped Envelope) helps alot!

Giving them a return envelope with postage will probably help. If you want a picture, ask for one. I think many stars send one on their own. But I don't really have experience in these matters.

kinda depends on who it is, at least in my experiences it does. like i got one from ronald reagan without asking...but had to specifically ask for one from Stephen King.

If you want a picture, ask. You may not need too but it wouldn't hurt. I mean after all broadway stars are not omniscient.
