Sets help needed...

My students are writing a play they want to set in France. They want the final scene to be a sword fight at the base of the Eiffel Tower. How can we BUILD the base of the Eiffel Tower to be able to use it on our school stage? Our stage is fairly large -- we want just a leg or two, but have NO idea how to go about building the thing. Any ideas?

Is the set going to be stable on the stage, or need to be moved?

Could you possibly do something creative with ladders...maybe with long planks between them, to "suggest" giders and a tower?

It's going to be on for a scene or two, but definitely needs to come off during the show.
