I was passionately in love with Shari Lewis as a kid and I also had the good fortune to see her night club act, which gave Lamb Chop some pretty racy lines and displayed her wonderful singing and dancing talents.

Would anyone here be old enough to have seen her theatre work? I know she did stock or touring productions of FUNNY GIRL, DAMN YANKEES and BYE BYE BIRDIE.

No, but I sat next to her at lunch in Palm Springs about 15 years ago, and she could not have been nicer...charming, friendly, a real class act.

When Shari was asked to contribute to a celebrity cook book she gave a recipe for lamb chops.

Ah I grew up on Lambchop too - I had a puppet and everything! Wow, I'd like to see reruns because being really young when it was on I probably couldn't appreciate her talent.

I used to love the "Never Get Away' medley with Shari and Lamb Chop. She was so pretty!

CurtainUp, I still have my Charly Horse puppet on my bunk bed. I love that puppet almost as much as my pull string Pee Wee Herman doll. re: Shari Lewis

That's weird. A show with a singing lamb chop?

I LOVED her show as a kid, and I recently saw her on The Nanny!

HOWEVER, I perferred Hushpuppy to Lambchop!

Hush Puppy is my favorite too!

Charley Horse can be counted as food depending on who you're asking.

Now Marquise, you know perfectly well Shari didn't have her hand inside an actual cut of meat. Although God knows what she got up to offstage.

OK. It's Sunday morning and I awoke refreshed.

Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop and Hushpuppy were all woven into my television viewing during my formative years, too.

Shari always struck me as a very nice lady. They could certainly be cute together however, generally speaking, those friggin puppets got on my nerves. They were sooooo iritating. As I think back on them now, they remind me of the people who post here who need guidance and direction with every decision that life thrusts upon them.

hehehe.

I have some vague recollection of closing credits on her television show where she danced around a backyard set with someone wearing a dog suit. Am I correct, or is that some other show?

OK, this'll get your trivia glands going...

The guy in the dog suit was Jackie Warner, who came to Australia to play Littlechap in STOP THE WORLD-I WANT TO GET OFF.

At least I know my memory wasn't playing tricks on me and there was a dog suit and dancing in the show!
