Has anyone here ever auditioned for a show choir? I'm auditioning for one next month and it will be the first time. No one in my school has ever made it and I'm not really sure what to expect. Does anyone know anything about the audition and what's involved?

lol I was president of my show choir last year :). Do you have to have a song prepared? we had everyone sing their best 16 measures of the song of their choice, then we had our choreographer teach a short combination and we had everyone do it in groups. So basically expect to sing and dance...a lot! :). Don't stress out though! Just be super peppy and have the best showmanship! It's the most important :).
for mine all we have to know is our vocal part tenor bass etc and dance the moves correctly! I would highly suggest knowing your vocal part like no other that's what is the most important if they see dance potential and you know your part then your more likely to get in! You could be a phenomenal dancer and suck at singing thats why in our show choir we have dancers who can dance but sing too!! good luck!
Thanks! I got two of the pieces I'm going to have to sing for auditions. One is a combination of Dancing Queen/Mamamia by ABBA and the other is from the show Merrily We Roll Along by Stephen Sondheim. I don't remember what it's called though...
I was in a show choir in High School. They are a lot of fun. Our auditions were you sang a little bit of your piece, then did some range and ear training stuff then learned about 2-3 8 counts of choreography and performed it in groups of about 4. The choreography part wasn't so much about getting the movements correct as performing it and look like you are having a great time. Hope that helps
