I find it hard to believe that he said all that whilst on his mobile, but I do agree. In fact, I just said to my family, while watching on Tuesday, "There is really only one American Idol, and that's Kelly Clarkson." No one disagreed.
I've been saying that since Season Two, Feodor. And last season turned out to be the last season I could stomach, and barely at that.

Although she can sing, Fantasia has no star quality whatsoever. I hope this season is better, but I doubt it.
She can sing?!

Well she can wail in tune...I guess that's singing.
In tune?!

Well compared to the others anyway. I guess you could call that in tune.

All I recall her doing was screaming and saying "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah". I hated last season, and would have bailed, except it was in my TiVo and my wife remained interested and my oldest son would come over and watch it with her. I could either leave the room or stay. I stayed.
I think that is all she did, Feodor.
In Fantasia's defense, I was never a supporter, But, i loved her rendition of Summertime - the first time she did it. Then she did it over and over....
Well, anyway, I bought her cd bootleg, and actually find it to be a good one.
My American Idol will always be Kimberly Locke.

I did like Kimberly Locke's voice. Very smooth and mellow.
That's how I felt about Charles Grigsby, and was VERY upset when he got voted off. Paula said it best when she said "Your voice is like Velvet". I couldn't have put into better words myself.
I liked Kimberly until she recorded that horrible piece of sap, "Eighth World Wonder."
The great thing about Kimberly's album is that it is not on one level. There are many different styles of music. Personally, I liked 8th World Wonder, but was not crazy about her follow-up. But, other songs on that album are great. She goes from Pop-Rock to R&B to plain Pop, and a little jazz. I like variety in my music, and that is why she works for me. She can sing many different styles of music.

I'm so mad I didn't start watching till last year. It was inevitable to see snippets of the show all over though, including where they are now....and I heard a bit of Kelly Clarkson after I watched the show last night. SHE is talented. As is Clay. But now? I just watch the show for sheer amusement. I don't think of it as a pop talent competition anymore, just a reality show for the music and marketing industry. My friend dragged me to the wrap-up concert this past August, and it was PATHETIC how empty the venue was. These people have no charisma and are just boring trained puppets onstage. I was embarrassed for most of them. Seriously, what is Fantasia or Diana known for now??
Simon is my BFF with benefits, and I couldn't agree more with him.
Clay Aiken is an American Idol. I love him.
*ducks*
The show should really be called American Idols....with an s because thats what it is. Its not just one, there a whole freakin flock of them
Well there should only be one. They should have made it a one-time thing so they could really get behind their American Idol, instead of working with 6 people at once. Keeping Kelly as the one and only Idol would have saved their integrity, which they lost two seasons ago, never to be recovered.

Well this peeice of fluff on the NY post rings so untrue. Simon is going to be at this very public celebrity gawking hotel talking loudly on his cell phone discussing contestants of his show. Ths is all just pr. And also; at least in the show; for those of us who remeber ( or care) Simon never pushed for Clay Aiken. I do agree with most of you however; Kelly has been the only winner worth listening to.
Is it a bad thing that I enjoy Kelly Clarkson? I don't own her records or anything, but her voice is definitely a good one, and I think she is the only person to come out of American Idol, and actually sound good. The rest of them are shrieking banshees...
No, it's not a bad thing LF...
It is never a bad thing to enjoy an entertainer. Unless that entertainer carries a little dog with them everywhere they go.
No, LF, you're agreeing with all of us here. Kelly is the one and only American Idol!
But I don't like Kelly...
(nor did I vote for her, therefore, she is not MY American Idol)
