re: Singing Causing Pain... Help!

1.) This song should NOT be belted.
2.) I wouldn't worry if this is the first time this happens. Just get a good night of sleep and don't sing for a day or two. If you are really in pain, take Tylenol.

haha you took my number one. I was like "#1) dont belt In My Life"

i doubt the headache was caused by singing... if it was, then you are doing something majorly wrong. Take tylenol for the pain, and figure out what caused it.

Sounds like you've been screaming for half an hour.

I imagine anyone else who might have been around has a headache too re: Singing Causing Pain... Help!

Have you sleep much and well the night before? Singers need to have at least 6-7 hours sleep. Also, this song is really not for belting, and remember to warm-up everytime (but maybe you have already did this).

It sounds like you might have been tightening up your face, shoulders and neck (especially if you're belting too far forward and not supporting properly.) I agree you shouldn't belt this song, but you should also make sure you have good belt technique--sing from the diaphragm, expand the vowels, don't contort or tense your face muscles as you sing. This happens to rock singers sometimes--they rarely have good technique--watch some of the scrunched faces some of them make when they're singing too high--no wonder some of them take drugs!
I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."

I'm working on this song too, I get a headache from it because of the parts that are in my passagio...mucho frustration. Anyway, like everyone else already said: sleep, water, warm up.
