Listen to Celine sing it and do it exactly like she does.
"Noah, someday we'll talk again. But there's things we'll never say. That sorrow deep inside you. It inside me, too. And it never go away. You be okay. You'll learn how to lose things..."

Or Martina McBride.
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."

Break a leg! (Does that apply in a church?)

I'm singing "Go tell it on the mountain" at my 11:00 service.
David walked into the valley With a stone clutched in his hand He was only a boy But he knew someone must take a stand There will always be a valley Always mountains one must scale There will always be perilous waters Which someone must sail -Into the Fire Scarlet Pimpernel

Amen Matt_G..its the definitive performance of the song. Done in true "Elphaba" (non screaming) style. Her "O Come All Ye Faithful" rocks my world too.

re: Singing O Holy Night....

I don't think a queer would want Cheno in their 'backround'

They'd probably go more for a Chad (Kimball?)

re: Singing O Holy Night....

I know I'm too late, but perhaps all carols should be sung with the Idina Menzel "oh AA AA AAAAAAAAA" at the end of them. I know I can't type pitches here, but I would be shocked if 90% of you don't understand what I'm talking about.

I think one should strive to match Sandy Patti's quite stunning rendition. Somewhat different than Celine's but very good.

re: Singing O Holy Night....

You shouldn't try to sing it like anyone else but yourself. I was a last-minute sub on this song last night (I did have a few hours notice). The choir director accomapnied me on guitar and I know the music and text well enough to sing without them in front of me. I focused on the words and sang mostly with my eyes closed--more for concentration than for anything else. The results were fine. Quite frankly, "O Holy Night" could stand on its own as a poem.

DollyPop.........sounds like your version of O Holy Night was beautiful. I remember singing it in a choir years ago and it was a difficult song to sing.
