Hey guys,
I don't really know where else to ask so I'm trying here! When I sing and especially when I use vibrato, my neck expands and wobbles a lot. I'm thin, so it's not a weight problem. It really lowers my self esteem and it's gotten to the point where I almost don't want to sing for anyone. This pouch just comes out from my neck and wobbles everytime. I've tried using better breath support and widening my vowels but nothing is working. Does this happen to anyone else? And does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
Try wearing a Turtleneck! Sorry- couldn't resist. Have you ever thought that maybe you are paying more attention to this than your audience? Maybe it isn't as noticeable as you think. Is it from nerves? Maybe you could just embrace it! The most important thing is how you sound. A beautiful voice is a beautiful voice. Good luck and welcome to the boards!

Go to a Voice Teacher or even a Vocal Pedagogist to see if it's a problem. Chances are, it's not. And if so, do what Supportivemom said and embrace it! Look at Patti LuPone- her chin wobbles when she sings and it hasn't done her any harm. Even more recent singers have strange habits- for example, Anneliese Van Der Pol tucks in her lower lip when she holds a note.
