OMG!!!!
that woman is 50 years old & she can kick up over her head!!!
all through the concert, she would do big karate kicks or just casually life her leg up over head!!!!
THE SHOW WAS WILD!!!! i knew that she would be great but she was F*****G AMAZING!!!!!! i danced my ass off & i am totally hoarse from "woo woo woo!"ing!!!!
she did most of the songs from MANTARAY, the new solo album, mixed in quite a few old Banshees songs. She looks happier & healthier than ive ever seen her before!!!
i was right up against the stage, she sweated all ovah me!
after the first song, people started piling bouqets flowers up on stage. she scooped them up & snarled, "is that all?" but when she turned around to carry them to the riser upstage, i saw that she was fighting back the tears...this was her first solo show in america & i felt like *that* was the moment that she realized that this was gonna be a success!!!
i started sketching on the subway last night, i will post when i have something to show.

she wore a low cut silver harlequin catsuit, HIIIIIIIIIGH heels...
Banshees songs were ARABIAN NIGHTS, SPELLBOUND, NIGHTSHIFT, ISRAEL and HONG KONG GARDEN

the audience was all old punk rockers or retired goths or just freaks who've somehow managed to survive nyc all these years...i dont think there was anyone younger than 30 & i saw some folks who looked early 60s.
there was such a feeling of camaraderie in the audience, this whole "oh my god, we are still alive & we can still dance!" vibe that just blew my mind!!!!

I have the Mantaray album. It's constantly in my cd player, I take it to the gym and go crazy. It's a masterpiece I tell you! After first hearing "Into a Swan" on Amazon, I wonder, where has this woman been all my life?!
I freakin' LOVE her!
(It's a thing I do, hear an artist's recent release and backtrack.)
