i'm collecting info for my lazy ass friend who is writing a play. He's looking for information on how to get it produced and published. once you've written it, than what?

Bring it to a producing agency. I recommend Bialystock & Bloom.

I'd suggest giving it to a well known writer -

"I've often said I should put sweets in my chair - they'd spend less time on my a** that way....." ~F.W.B.
