Bravo to an American who is forcing people to acknowledge the reality of this war--particularly a president who lives in fantasy land.
And for those news and talk show folk who can't discuss the issue and can only smear the woman--you dig yourselves deeper and deeper in the pits of sh!t and hell you wallow in.
I think the spirit of nonviolent protest is the ultimate in patriotism.
If you call her protest blackmail, what would you call the concerted effort to smear her character?
Serious question, Etoile.
Here's what the president has to say about the matter:
"But whether it be here or in Washington or anywhere else, there's somebody who has got something to say to the president, that's part of the job," Bush said on the ranch. "And I think it's important for me to be thoughtful and sensitive to those who have got something to say."
"But," he added, "I think it's also important for me to go on with my life, to keep a balanced life."...
"I think the people want the president to be in a position to make good, crisp decisions and to stay healthy," he said when asked about bike riding while a grieving mom wanted to speak with him. "And part of my being is to be outside exercising."...
As Bush rolled by, Sheehan held a sign that said, "Why do you make time for donors and not for me?"
Bush will `go on with life'
It's nice that the president is keeping a nice, balanced life, exercising and riding his bike an' all....while Sheehan's son lies dead six feet under.

He always hurts himself on his bike. How is that helping him to be healthy?
It's promoting the possibility of a healthy future for America, Namo. 'Cause, you know, we can certainly hope he might fall off into a ravine.
