Fascinating article in the Times Magazine today. Despite the article's title, the writer doesn't really defend the woman who Tweeted about AIDS in Africa (remember her?) or anyone else who Tweets/posts racist/misogynist/homophobic comments. But I do think social media makes us all like the villagers in Shirley Jackson's The Lottery.
Worth a read.
