Hi,
I'm just starting singing lessons and my teacher wants me to bring in three musical theater songs I would like to work on. What suggestions would you have for a young adult female? I'm looking for something easy.
Thanks!

Why don't you buy one of these books, you can find them almost anywhere...just find your voice type.

I'm such a beginner that I can't even answer that question! But I can't sing very high, if that helps. :)
And thanks for the book link!

mabie start with musicals that interest you before you work on material you should learn ie. pre 1970's. if you like rock sing rent or spring awakening...if you like pop try bare or wicked....enjoy the start so you want to continue and sing what makes you like to sing...
but IMO you should include a rogers and hammerstein or gilbert & sullivan or earlier piece. its allways good to have a few classics in your book.and its solid foundation for learning corect placements...Just have fun!!

You might want to try a song from Cabaret or Chicago.
I Cain't Say No from Oklahoma! might work.
Always True to You and Why Can't You Behave from Kiss Me, Kate.

Thanks! There are quite a few songs I like from recent musicals, but I have a hard time figuring out what will be the easiest for me to learn. Any suggestions from Side Show or Gypsy?
Thanks again for your help!
