Any help would be appreciated.
I know a bunch of people are posting this type of question and Thank You if you bother to help.
I'm a 16 year old female, I have a 4 octave range and can belt a high E/ sometimes F. I'm a innocent soprano as well as a belter and can sing low. I have been told that I sound A LOT like Michelle Federer, although I have not yet seen Wicked (But will on Nov. 3). So, maybe something that fits her voice?

I've always wanted to hear Michelle sing some of Cathy's songs in The Last 5 Years. So, maybe Still Hurting or something else from it...?

I love Still Hurting but you can't bring it on an audition. Too hard of a piano part.

Yeah, you're right, Mattio. Didn't think of that.

My friend is directing Last 5 Years at her school this spring. I'm really excited to go see it. I have heard a few of the songs. Maybe I'll buy a CD or something.
thanks.

You must buy the CD! It is probably my favorite in my whole collection. I never get tired of it. Jason Robert Brown is a genius.
you sound like you've got my range!k.. how about..
The Wizard and I
I'm Not that Girl (maybe:S its a little low)
Home (from Beauty and the Beast not The Wiz)
Part of Your World (shows hardly any range for an audition though)
No Good Deed (Wicked)
P.S. If you sound like Federer thats cool! shes soo cute!
does anyone think that when Idina belts she sounds like Barbra Striesand?(sp? typing fast :S)

I've sung Home a kadjillion times... it's one of my all time faves. I feel so connected to it because after to moving NJ it was really easy to let loose to it.
And Part of Your World I sang when I was younger a lot. I want something challenging.
Does Nessa sing any solo song in Wicked?
yes. "The Wicked Witch of the East" but you can't get the music to that unless you get it illegally!:) they didnt make it available anywhere because they say it gives away too much of the plot.
p.s. but doesnt idina sound like Barbara??!?!?

elphaba--those are such teeny bopper suggestions. Cute. But yeah--you walk into an audition with a repetoire of wicked songs, you might look a wee bit juvenile.

I've had the most luck with the classics for auditions. PLEASE make sure you have classics in your repertoire, nothing is worse than a musical theatre performer who can't pull out an R&H on command.
Try I could have danced all night (My Fair Lady)
Where or When (Babes in Arms)
That'll Show Him (Forum)
What Good Would the Moon Be (Street Scene- I'm pretty sure)
A Perfect Relationship (Bells are Ringing)
Good Luck!
*edit*
Also look at My True Love from Yeston's Phantom, good for that innocent soprano!

"I've Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miz might be OK but it's been done to death.
Where (geographically) is the audition? If not in/near NYC then there might not be as many Wicked songs as there will be post national tour.
I agree 'Home' from Beauty and the Beast is good.
Another 'standard' might be "good night my someone" Music Man
"sing for your supper" is a fun song.. damn can't remember what show but it's Rogers and Hart.
Plus, if you're a little inocent type who can belt, there's always 'If you got it, flaunt it' from the Producers.
Try to remember this: I've found that the more unusual, the better. Not wierd, but unusual. That way you stand out. Years ago I auditioned for a show and had to sing a song from Guys and Dolls, Carousel, Fiddler, West Side Story, and the Wiz. I know it sounds like a lot to shoose from but you'd be amazed how many people sang "courage" from The Wiz and "Somewhere" from West Side. I was the only one (out fo several hundred) to sing "cool" from West Side and got cast.

I suggest this one all the time:
"Poor Sweet Baby" from Snoopy
It's overused but "Much More" from Fantasticks
Darling, if you have a 4-octave range, I don't understand why you would ever have any problem finding a song to fit your voice.
