Hi. I'm trying out for the King and I at a local theatre. I'm 16 and want to sing something from the show. Any suggustions? Thanks

If you're 16, I would go with "My Lord and Master"

The King and I is one of those scores that deserves a home in your cast recording collection.

If you are a rich soprano, My Lord and Master is a great choice, but know the context beforehand. Nail the lyrics as well as the music since they tell the audience a lot about her character. Pretty singing with unintelligible words or meaningless words is just very nice noise.

"We Kiss in a Shadow" is my favorite song from the show and it works well as a soprano solo.
