Sonic myDVD capturing help needed!

I got Sonic myDVD to transfer video from my camera to the computer. I have an external hard drive with some 160 gigs free on it. When I try to save a video to the hard drive, though, it's reading how many gigs I have free on there, but it's telling me there's only 18 minutes worth of recordable space. Similarly, I can't transfer any video that's more than that - despite having so much free space available!
Anyone have ANY idea why this is - what I can do to fix this???

BTW - I tried defragmenting the drive already....didn't help...
