Man, that was a dissappointing way to end the season. It seemed as if the entire episode was constructed around "Let's make fun of a kid dying of cancer and three year olds getting horribly beaten by hockey players to show the hypocrisy of getting upset over a two-second joke about Steve Irwin's death." Funny moments but, overall, Trey and Matt should stop caring so much about what the fans think and just do what they want.
They were making fun of sports movies and cliches. And I thought they did a damn good job. They got 'em all: The "underdog" coach, the untrained team, the dying but stoic team member, "You're like a father to him", the promise to win the game for the dying kid--they even spoofed trailers.
It was certainly funnier than the last two episodes, which I felt were a big disappointment.

This is like the fifth episode they've done spoofing sports movie cliches.
I'm really hoping SP ends soon. Trey and Matt are running out of ideas and it will only be a matter of time before it gets Simpsoned.
You can't spoof movie cliches enough, IMO.
And I don't think they're in danger of heading into Simpsons territory quite yet. SP relies on current events and politics, and as long as people have opinions they'll have material. The Simpsons, however, ran out of ideas about 4 years ago...

I was gonna make a SP post earlier...
When do you think they'll hit the Britney/K-Fed divorce? Or is it too late? Or did I miss it? I haven't watched SP in a while.

Not for a while. That was the season finale.
How many episodes?
I remember seeing the previews for S10 just a few months ago.
That was the whole season? It was like 5 episodes.

It's so easy to trash The Simpsons but they rule. And they shall always rule.
Somehow I doubt they'll do anything on the Fed-Ex. It's just not what they usually cover.
They covered Paris.
They can definitely cover Fed-Ex.
"JohnPopa: That was the whole season? It was like 5 episodes."
My thoughts exactly.
They divide the seasons. The first half of this season aired in the spring, and the second half just wrapped up.

That's what's been annoying me about SP lately. The splitting up of the seasons is extremely lazy and not cool.
