Okay, some of you may know I just got back from a trip to Walt Disney World(woohoo!) It was like my 4th week-long vacation there with my family, and I've also had a couple one-day visits while in Florida. So figure sometimes doing it twice, I've gone on Spaceship Earth at EPCOT about...8 times or more. But this trip it was more special.

For those unfamiliar with the ride(which means you've never been to Disney--poor souls), you sit in a car and are taken through the history of communications-from the earliest forms of writing to today, your car narrates your journey and you see all these audiomatronics and other things demonstrating all the forms of communication and how it has advanced. Anyway, as we enter today, the narrator ends the ride saying something along the lines of..."Today physical distance is not at all a barrier as we are easily able to communicate with everyone in the world" or something like that. I dunno, I actually formed a tear in my eye as that was said b/c of BWW and I just realized how true it was. Granted most of my close friends here live reasonably close to me, still, it is quite amazing when you think of the advancement of communication as shown in Spaceship Earth that we all can communicate and make close friends and yeah. I dunno, had a special moment, just wanted to share.

"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

I adore Spaceship Earth and Epcot. I was the 2 year old who LOVED Epcot when all the other little girls and boys went to the Magic Kingdom.

You could say my first obsession started there - with Figment. If you ever want to see what it looks like when someone goes completely crazy over one character, just check out my homepage. I have over 200 Figment items, and adding all the time.

That park has always held a special place in my heart, and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it too! I've been to WDW over 15 times over the years and in a few weeks I'll be heading to DL for the first time. re: Spaceship Earth and BWW
