So people keep posting clips from this on my FB--going on about how amazing a performance is...

Is this a show for guys who watch Spike and would never tune into a drag show so this appropriation of a queer tradition by straight people seems amazing to them? (I'm kidding of course--mostly.) Because Anne Hathaway's Wrecking Ball was far sloppier than several drag performances I've seen of the same song.

I only watched the first episode because The Rock was so frigging adorable. Fallon did an exemplary Like a Prayer. But it's such a paper thin idea for a series and I find LL Uncool Repub an unbearable host and that poor woman being every hard-line feminist separatist's living embodiment of rape culture doesn't make it any more comfortable.

What is with that woman? Do they cut to her confused reaction shots just to keep the Spike audience comfortable if Jonathan Krasinski wears a dress for his performance?

I afmit Paul Rudd's lip sync battle on Fallon is one of my fave things ever--so I get the concept, but like you said, for a full show? I guess it would be fun to watch high with your friends and not pay too much attention to... which I'll have to try.

It's similar to that "In My Ear" on Ellen that is now it's own show. It was getting tired as a bit on a show. Half an hour is just too much, and not funny.

Yes! Perfect comparison. These shows should learn from the disaster of certain great SNL skits being made into films.

It's fun, I don't think the concept warrants a full show. Even on Drag Race, where the performers lip sync for a living, it doesn't need to take up a whole half hour.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

No, the concept works on an occasional Tonight Show. I find a full show of it quite boring actually.
