I was talking to my friend and we are both theatre geeks, and she asked what kind of sports do theatre people play?


Every theatrical person I know is really not athletic. We all dance and stuff.


Next year in school I need to do a sport, and I hate all sports, so I need suggestions.

I don't play or know anything about sports. And neither do my theatre friends. All I know is that Shack, Kobe, and Magic Johnson are in basketball. Tiger Woods is in golf. And if a saw a sport being played I could probably tell you what its called.

At least you could tell what they are. I went to a baseball game for my brother's B-day, and thought it was football.

tennis, swimming, or track will keep you in shape.

tennis is only fun when you know how to play lol fencing is kind of like dancing though... if you're a good dancer you would be good at fencing.
it can also help you to learn stage combat stuff.

I do like tennis (I played it for a couple years.) I don't thinkk it is offered in the winter, though. I do love it, though.




Is dance a sport? You sweat, and get a good workout! My stomache is flat and I am in perfect shape from it.

see if they offer badmitten, it's usually played indoors (at least in my HS it was......)

gotta love the sports made up by schools, like pillow-polo (the giant tampon game) and matball (kickball for lazy people.... run to first base and stay if you want!)

I like watching baseball, but obviously that has nothing to do with anything.

Swimming is nice, and I took aikido for a while until it turned out my wrists didn't like it. (I have bad wrists, but this is a good martial art for the able-bodied who don't necessarily want to chop boards.)

Plum- I did Tae Kwan Doe for 5 years, but stupid school doesn't like "violence".

Basketball
baseball
soccer
voleyball (which I might do)
football


If I could add my sports:
dance
sing
singing infront of the mirror
watching a show

Yeah, Tae Kwon Do is what I had in mind when I mentioned board-chopping. Aikido is less about hitting people and more about throwing them and putting them in extremely painful wrist locks.

hmmm... not a huge selection. i've actually played every sport on your list on a team at one point or another (i may not look like it but i've always been a sports person)
don't play soccor unless you can run for a good hour. i could play it in elementary school but not anymore lol.
volleyball is a good pick. i played volleyball in middle school and loved it. there's also not alot of running (duh)
baseball is fun, but unless you're really really into it, it can get boring. also there are a ton of rules to remember.
football is a no-no! it's great when you're 6 and everyone is the same as you, but not fun in high school when the people on the team are huge, work out 5 hours a day, and have necks the size of my waist.
basketball is awasome, unless you're short like me lol. i still play it, but only in my back yard where the net is lowered about a foot.

I played voleyball in camp (A theatre camp that made you play a sport...) I probably going to do that.

I play volleyball on my school's varsity team, and it can get pretty intense. You lose a lot of weight and don't really notice at the time because you get so into the game. i LOVE it
