re: Sprechen Sie Deutsch

Mein Deutsche is nicht gut.

I learned just enough to get around Germany.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

re: Sprechen Sie Deutsch

here is what remains of my three and a half years of German in High School:

Heute zeigen sie zwei filme im Roxy.

Wir spielen fussball, kommst du?

Du bist so rot wie ein krebs.

When's the next flight to Munich?

re: Sprechen Sie Deutsch

Ich spreche die Deutsch. Ich habe zwei und halb jahre Deutsch sprechen.

I hate German... hence why I'm taking French next year. I really wish they had Italian, it's really hard to learn it on your own. I've been learning it on my own for two years and I can't retain any of it.

re: Sprechen Sie Deutsch

I sat through 6 hours of the Oberammergau Passion Play. You'd think I would retain some of the language.

re: Sprechen Sie Deutsch

we had to speak all German in third year - at that point, nobody cared, so we would say:

"Wie sagen, 'I didn't do my homework, and can I go out and get a drink of water now' auf Deutsch"? Our teacher would actually tell us how to say all of that... she never caught on. re: Sprechen Sie Deutsch

HERES the thing I most remember.

Ich habe ein grosse schlange in meine hosen.
[I have a big snake in my pants.]

My freshman year German class thought that was HYSTERICAL!

OntheAisle, we had to know how to say that in our first year!

Darf ich zur Toilette/ wasser trinken/ schleishwoch gehen bitte!

And all of that stuff is probably spelled wrong.

Ich spreche Deutsche, aber nur ein bissen.

(my strongest memory from German class was a sentence badly butchered by a couple of students... they answered a question with "Sie bügelt ihn weil er warm ist." If I remember correctly, it translates as "She irons him until he becomes gay.")
I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!

re: Sprechen Sie Deutsch

I love the language, took it for two and a half years of college, but now all that's left is a mish-mash of german, french and greek (all languages I sort'a learned but never followed through with)
