Bill Murray got himself a meaty role here
Saw it today and he should definitely be in the running for a best actor nod at the Oscars. To me now, the front runner is Eddie Redmayne in The Theory Of Everything.
He is already nominated for this at the Golden Globes & for HBO'S Olive Kittridge

Bumping this thread. Surprised more people didn't offer their opinion. I watched this tonight. My favorite film of 2014. A movie that made me care about the characters. I didn't want the movie to end. It made me laugh and cry. The irony, not a single Oscar nomination. Terrifically acted. Even Melissa Mccarthey, who I normally grow tired of, acted the crap of her role. Bill Murray, had one of the best roles in years. I watched Whiplash last night. Nominated for best picture! It was somewhat entertaining, but didn't get the fuss. I generally could have cared less whether the lead, Andrew, ever drummed again. Or if he got the crap abuse from Simmons. He was such a distasteful little ****. On the otherhand in St. Vincent, Bill Murray's character is full of flaws, but instead of hating him, you grow to care about him. If you haven't seen St. Vincent, run to watch it. You won't be disappointed.
