This is Ireland's response to the anti-gay bullying going on today.

My gay friends in HS never had the benefit of such outreach and support. It literally took years for them to feel comfortable coming out to their straight friends and families - many literally led two lives.

There is still plenty of hate out there, but it is not longer the loudest or only voice being heard.

I like the concept better than 'it gets better' - but BOY did I have a hard time getting past the one kid just turning and running and leaving his friend there to god knows what. I mean, I get the instinctual response, but . . . well, that was just difficult for me to get past.

Overall, though, I like the address.

Q, so did I.

But, the flight reactions to teasing/bullying (as well as joining in to avoid being the target) seemed to ring a bit true to me, especially when you are in HS. It actually provided a bit of authenticity for me, if that makes any sense.
