This was a good idea and a very interesting result; Fry deals with it reasonably well although he's ill-equipped to deal with the beliefs of Christian fundamentalists. However the real eye-opener is just how limited are the intellects of senior figures in many of the nations he visits.
All rational people are ill-equipped to deal with Fundamentalists. It's like talking to the homeless guy on the corner who always wears an aluminum hat because aliens are trying to steal his thoughts. They just believe what they believe "because".
Yes, I suppose so. I've naively volunteered to take part in a local project aimed at challenging homophobia amongst fundamentalists next year. I'm beginning to wonder what I've let myself in for!
