So, the BWW evening also included another critic, Stu Hamstra, who runs the Cabaret Hotline Online website, with readers all over the country, and he had this to say about Steven...

"Steven Garrett Wright was making his cabaret debut at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 - http://www.theduplex.com/ ) and I managed to arrange my schedule to catch his last performance of his "Angels All Around Me" show on Wednesday night, November 17th. It was a schedule re-shuffle I was glad I made. Rarely have I attended a cabaret debut where the performer seemed to get it all right, as Mr. Wright did last night! With Tim Di Pasqua at the piano, providing the show delightful arrangements and musical direction, and Michael Blanco on bass, the song list contained mainly show-tunes, befitting Mr. Wright's background in musical theater. Handsome and tall, with to-die-for baritone vocals, Steven was simply awesome as he presented each song was a special flair and angle, making each lyric his own special message. A slightly defiant "Love Who You Love" was followed by a revealing and tender "Something Wonderful." The pairing of Jason Robert Brown's "The Next Ten Minutes" with Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Ten Minutes Ago" was truly inspired. Truly one of the finest male vocalist debuts of the year, I could only ask myself why Mr. Wright waited so long to bring his special talents to the cabaret rooms. And amazing talent that simply must be heard more often. Let's hope he decides to bring it back before the end of the year."

WOW! CONGRATULATIONS!

I am opening a bottle of champagne to celebrate!

And, yes - it was a truly inspired performance. And, years from now when he's big and famous I'll be able to say "I knew him when..."

Congratulations. A wonderful review and an incredible night!

(I just wonder why the reviewer didn't mention the awesome audience?...LOL)
