Stolen Babies (1993) Mary Tyler Moore

Anyone seen this film? I watched it a few years ago and was intrigued. I Googled and read a lot about this woman named Georgia Tann, because I am from Tennessee. She either stole or tricked women into giving babies and gave them to right families, making lots of money. It was a pretty horrible situation.

So, my dad and I were talking a few minutes ago and he mentioned that my very old aunt (who is a royal bitch, but that's another story) was talking to him and telling him old family stories. (Apparently my great-great grandfather killed a man for messing with his wife and then went to the penitentiary, where he later hanged himself. o_O) But, the story that really got my dad was that his favorite aunt, who died before I was born, had a baby at 13. My grandparents sent her to a home in Nashville and she had planned on having the baby and giving it to my grandparents to raise as a sibling. (My great-grandmother had 12 kids. What was one more?!) Well, paperwork got mixed up and he ended up being placed for private adoption. She was young. The family didn't have the resources to fight it, so they figured it was for the best. Turns out, Georgia Tann did it! I love old drama!!!

Riiiiight?! I love it. I love terrible movies. She played such an evil old bat in that one. Turns out, we have a connection!
