The boy and I are hoping to visit Strawberry Fields this weekend, but we're iffy on the best way together, since it's the first time for both of us. We're good as far as getting to Port Authority, but after that, we're kind of lost.

Does anyone have directions or great tips to get to Strawberry Fields without getting lost or taking some horribly roundabout route?

(Not that it needs to be a whambamthankyoumaam kind of trip, but we're hoping to spend as much time relaxing in the park as we can, not on the streets, heh.) Any and all help is appreciated!

From Port Authority, you want to take the C train uptown. You get off at 72nd Street, and Central Park is directly across the street.

If you stand facing Central Park (back to 72nd Street), you will see that there is a wide road going into Central Park. If you are on the left of that road walking into Central Park, you will see two paths. Take the path that bears right and you will head directly into Strawberry Fields.

On the north corner of 72nd and Central Park West is The Dakota. It's entrance is on 72nd Street where John Lennon was shot.
