Her TV specials represent TV at its finest. The first two especially - like the most amazing orgasm.
Thanks for the heads up that the boxed set is 60% off on Amazon. I just ordered it for a friend's birthday coming up.
"My Name Is Barbra" and "Color Me Barbra" are clearly, 2 of the finest tv specials ever. The Emmys that were showered on these 2 shows clearly proves that.
I'm sure that there will be a few people who will post on this thread that they hate Barbra.....blah, blah, blah.....
I'm just blessed with a lot of common sense. If you don't like her, then don't watch. Makes sense to me!
There's such a need on this board to bash the successful....could never figure that out?
I also want to thank Jimnysf for posting this. I've been lusting after this for a while now and once I saw his post and how affordable it was, I bought a set on Amazon.
I remember a friend of mine trying to get me into Barbra and I just wans't into it. I just didn't think she was that great. He bought the dvd set right when it came out and made me watch segments of it. I remember this little boy playing the piano and the solo she sang. I was sold. It was right there at that point in time is where I said to myself, "This dame ain't that bad". Anyway, my friend passed away about a year ago. About a month before he passed I began getting into all things Streisand. So, I bought this set as a way to remember my friend. It really sucks, because if he was alive I know we'd be talking non-stop about her. He actually met her several times when he was living in New York and they share the same birthday and year of birth (how weird is that?)Anyway, sorry for the rant!
That's a nice story. Thanks for sharing your special memory of your friend with other Barbra lovers!
