It's both good and bad. On one hand - for safety - it's a good thing. But for obvious reasons - not so good.
The upside is - the TUNNELS are not getting service. Just the platforms

Don't underestimate the MTA. They're entirely capable of charging ATT and T-Mobile for "real estate", while raising fares because of it at the same time.
Meanwhile, instead of storming Albany and Washington, DC to get the MTA properly funded to avoid this unwarranted and obscene raise in fares, our mayor is devoting his time and energy to getting taxes raised on sodapop.
