No, I'm not discussing the beloved poster, whose moniker is a deeply felt homage to the heroine of Robert Altman's NASHVILLE. I'm talking the real deal. Anyone watching IDOL tonight who remembers the aborted renditions of "You're the Wuh-uh-UN!" in NASHVILLE must've felt that unique energy. First she gave Simon the classic low key SLG denial. Then, the poor girl was taken to a Houston mall to recruit fans. She did the definitive SLG boogie. Undefeated, in her own mind, she went home to prove them all wrong. The great Gwen Wells performance sprang to mind.

Sueleen of Broadwayworld? I hope you saw it. You'll get goosebumps. And tears.
