Super Cheap Prescription Glasses (not a shill!) Zenni Optical#1

Okay, first let me say I don't work for this company or know a soul who does. I just ordered from them and wanted to share.
We live in a single income and have a baby, so I find it very difficult to justify spending money on myself, even when it's necessary. I have needed glasses for over two years. I had switched to contacts a few years ago, but had to stop wearing them due to allergies. Since my prescription isn't too heavy, I just went without. I was starting to get bad headaches and knew I needed something.
Since glasses are cheaper in the US, I decided to get them while traveling. While googling around to find the cheapest place, I found an ad for Zenni Optical. Their premise seemed too good to be true, so I did some digging. I couldn't find anything negative. I watched some YouTube reviews that seemed very positive and checked out their Facebook page. There I found very pleased customers helping other customers place orders. I knew they could be shilling, but decided to check it out.
The sort of negative: They do not carry name brand frames. Those adorable Burberry frames that I couldn't afford anyway were out. You also, obviously, can't try anything on directly. You can upload a pic and put in your pupil distance to get an idea of the look, but you're taking a chance. I would suggest going to a shop and trying on frames, taking pics and writing down sizes, just to be safe.
The good: Their frames are all $6.95 to $45.95 and they carry almost anything you can imagine. They have plastic, metal, half-rim, rimless (including those super-light, can't even feel them frames) for men, women and children, in all sizes.
The crazy: The cost includes your prescription lenses. 1.50 single vision and 1.57 mid-index single vision lenses are free. 1.59 Polycarbonate lenses are $9 more. Higher intensity lenses are more, $34.95 being the most expensive. You can get lens tint for $5. They do prescription sunglasses, too. transition type tinting starts at $19. Anti-reflective coating is from $5 to $19. There are other extras, as well, though they aren't necessary and there is no pressure, like at the optometrist. Shipping is $5, regardless of how many pairs you order.
I decided to give it a shot. I went to my optometrist and got a new prescription, tried on a few frames and headed home. Since I wasn't certain of the outcome, I went cheap. I got a $6.95 pair and a $9.95 pair. I added $5 anti-glare to the $9.95 pair and that was it. With shipping and tax it was around $28. I emailed them a copy of my prescription and they verified that all was correct. (That step isn't require, just helpful.) When we got to the US, they were waiting on me. Delivery took about a week.
Then results: I am THRILLED! I am as happy with both pairs as I have ever been with glasses I have paid hundreds for. I wish I had gotten anti-reflective on both, but I specifically wanted one pair to be bare bones. Each pair came with a case and cleaning cloth. I will be ordering from them again. At this price, you can afford to have tons of glasses. I have my eye on an obnoxious HUGE pair of tortoise shell frames that look like they would have been in Vogue in 72.
So, if you wear glasses and are on a budget or just like to have dozens of pairs to play around with, check out ZenniOptical.com
/end of my way too long post. lol
