"My daughter and I also met with AngActing for lunch one day."
I'd like to read every single detail you can recall from that lunch.
Namo, AngActing was very kind to meet with us at lunch. What she did was she gave my daughter the motivation she needed for the character and how to get to that emotion. She went through the monologue and gave my daughter some background about the character and what she was probably thinking when she said the particular lines. Everything she said made perfect sense and like I said, I think it will be very helpful to my daughter. I'm not sure what details you want to hear about because I was an observer. I let my daughter ask all the questions and she felt really good about the advice she was given. Thanks, mom

Sounds like you had a real Method Lunch.
It was definitely a lesson in method acting! That's exactly what Ang said. She gave my daughter a very different approach to the monologue. She was able to get her to think about how to get to a specific emotional point. Like I said, she was dead on with her comments and extremely helpful! I just wish I could have met more BWW posters! Both Jane2 and AngActing were great! I understand I almost met wannabefoster. That would have been great as I enjoy his posts. I did get to see Charles Busch (I hope I spelled that right) coming out of Die Mommy Die. I never would have guessed by seeing him at the stage door that he was all in drag in the show! Thanks, mom

I suspected Ang and I were on the same page, technique-wise.
And you're right, Charles Busch is very masculine.

Wonderful! I'm so glad you had a great trip, and I wish I could have met with you!
I wish I could have met you as well. I never did get or even see a synagogue. The closest I came was the chasidic jews on 47th St- ha! mom

Thanks Jay! I was having board withdrawal. Meeting some of the posters did help ease the situation though. When we left NY on Sat.- it was in the 20's. Today in N. Florida, the high is 80 degrees! Maybe that's why I developed a horrible cold! Have a wonderful holiday and thanks for the cartoon! mom

Hey, FindingNamo . . . where did you study Method?! I was at AADA when it was Stansislavsky. I guess now it is considered fully Meisner. I know, also Method . . . but I do enjoy going directly to the original source! *wink*
And I certainly have been introduced and trained [and have coached and taught acting] in various other techniques; and consistently read everything I can find -- with a strong immersion into Method, obviously!
Mom and her daughter are so cool!
Her daughter is going to be a Broadway star if she so chooses. She is attentive, highly intelligent and really "gets it"!
Mom you're so great, too. When I adopt my children [the only way I will be a mother], I hope I'm as cool a mother as you are!
Thanks Ang! It's our secret though- my daughter doesn't realize how cool I am!- mom
