So I'm auditioning for Sweeney Todd later this year, and I'm brushing up on the music for it, as it's one of my favorites. I'm auditioning for both Anthony and Tobias.
I'm a baritone with a range up to G4 in chest voice and up to C5 in falsetto.
To anyone who has done the MTI licensed Sweeney Todd, what keys are their solo numbers written in? Like, "Johanna", and "Not While I'm Around"??? Preferably, what are the ranges for those two characters?
Does it use the 1979 vocal score?
From what I've read,
"Johanna" is in E-flat, and "Not While I'm Around" is in A-flat in sheet music, but on video (the 1982 with Hearn/Lansbury and 2001 with Hearn/LuPone) and recordings they're a wee bit higher. Why is that?
I'm just wanting to make sure the ranges are just right so I don't get into something I can't handle.
Thanks for any help!

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)
